Are you a hardcore mountain biker looking for a challenge? If you can handle 82 KM in one day, through jungle, dirt roads, villages and paddy fields, and still be ready for another full day biking adventure tour,  then we have the adventure holidays for you, my friend. Top off you’re extreme adventure with some white water river rafting on the awesome Padas river, the perfect way to refresh yourself and experience the thrills of the rapids after pushing your body to the limit. WARNING: Not for the faint-hearted! Must be experienced in biking and have excellent physical fitness.

Day 1 : Kota Kinabalu / Mahua Waterfall / Keningau / overnight @ Perkasa hotel Keningau (L) (Acco)

borneo_bike_raft_kayak0111Early pick-up at 7:30am, before we transfer you overland to the Mountain Biking Adventure start point at Kinabalu Park, some 1,500metres above sea level. Then, bike for 45km on and off road, up and down hills along the scenic range. After biking for 45km, we head to Mahau Waterfall for lunch. This waterfall is nestled in thick jungle; the perfect place to rest, eat, and go for a refreshing swim in the cool water. Continue cycling on road for 12km, before turning off onto a dirt road for the next 25km. We will the transfer you via vehicle to another off-road area that offers a steep, downhill dirt track through a paddy field landscape mountain bike trails . Finally, we will transfer to Keningau town where you have plenty of choice for dinner. Spend overnight at Perkasa Keningau hotel.

Day 2 : Keningau / Tenom / overnight @ Perkasa hotel Tenom

After breakfast, get on your mountain bikes and cycle 5km to reach the off-road section. The off-road mountain biking rtails is approximately 15km, some uphill. After that, you will bike on road for a further 25km until you reach the town of Tenom. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch in the town. Then, if you still have the energy, bike to Tenom Orchid Garden, a beautiful area devoted to Borneo’s diverse species of Orchid. In the afternoon, you can decide whether to do some more mountain biking around Tenom, or browse through the town. Head to one of the local restaurants or hawker stalls for dinner, before spending overnight in Perkasa Tenom Hotel.

Day 3 : Tenom / Padas River / Klias River (B,L,D)

borneo_bike_raft_kayak016Transfer to Tenom Train station after breakfast.  We will then take the 45min train ride to Pangi – the “Last Train of Borneo”- that cuts through the beautiful jungle and takes us to the starting point for rafting. Once you reach Pangi, light refreshments and sumptuous fruits will be served and you will be given a thorough safety briefing by one of our knowledgeable, fun and adventurous guides. Start rafting from Pangi and proceed through the crashing waves down to Rayoh. Participate in paddling, have a swim, and – if you’re also feeling adventurous- body raft at points along the river. Conquer rapids with names like Headhunter, Cobra Point, Merry-go-Round and Adrenaline Flow. After rafting, enjoy the lunch at BUSAT Base Camp. Take the train back to Beaufort. There, get back on your bikes and cycle to the Klias river, some 18km from Beaufort. Upon arrival, enjoy local delicacies and refreshments before the cruise. Then, as you sail through the Klias, Proboscis Monkeys can be spotted on the surrounding trees feeding. Macaque Monkeys can also be observed, as well as the rare silver languor, water buffalo and a variety of birds. You may also witness the breathtaking sunset and thousands of fireflies twinkling amongst the mangrove trees like fairy lights while cruising back to the River Lodge. Upon reaching the jetty, a sumptuous Malay Traditional dinner will be served. We will then return you back to Kota Kinabalu. ~ End of Tour ~
